Waterbury Silverbacks Loses Despite Out Hitting Simsbury SaberCats

The Waterbury Silverbacks fell 4-2 to the Simsbury SaberCats on Wednesday despite out-hitting them five to three. Mike Siano led the Silverbacks with two hits.

An error put Simsbury SaberCats on the board in the bottom of the first. Zach Drewry grounded into a fielder's choice, which helped Waterbury tie the game at one in the top of the fifth. In the bottom of the fifth, Simsbury broke up the tie when #15 tripled, scoring two runs. Then a walk by #16 followed to extend the lead to 4-1.

Gabe Baber took the loss for Waterbury. The reliever went one inning, surrendering three runs (two earned) on one hit, striking out two and walking three. Kevin Cestari began the game for the Silverbacks. The starting pitcher gave up two hits and one run (zero earned) over four innings, striking out six and walking two. #17 opened the game for the SaberCats. The starting pitcher gave up five hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out 10 and walking five.

Drewry led Waterbury with one run batted in.
