The Waterbury Silverbacks Fall to the Meriden Riptide

The Waterbury Silverbacks lost to the Mediren Riptide 6-1 on Monday.
A double by Devin Feugen put the Riptide on the board in the top of the third. Michael Fiatarone grounded into a fielder's choice, which helped Waterbury tie the game at one in the bottom of the third. Then, a ground out by Ryan Murphy regained the Riptide the lead, 2-1, in the top of the fourth.
Zander Kasbarian took the loss for Waterbury Silverbacks. The hurler went four innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on five hits, striking out four and walking none. Aiden Carobollo started for the Riptide. The starter gave up two hits and one run over three innings, striking out seven and walking four.
Fiatarone led Waterbury Silverbacks with one run batted in. The third baseman went 1-for-2 on the day. Devin Kulas led the Silverbacks with two hits in two at bats. Pierce Cowles paced Waterbury Silverbacks with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting seven walks for the game.
The Waterbury Silverbacks play at home on Tuesday against the Southington Black Knights in their next game.
