In the second of back-to-back road games vs. West Haven, the Silverbacks were on the less fortunate side of the final score in their 5-2 loss to the Sailors Tuesday evening.
The Sailors broke the scoreless tie in the bottom of the fourth with a four run outburst. Waterbury plated two runs in the six to trail by three, but couldn’t quite finish the comeback. Bryce Isquith threw four innings while allowing two earned runs in the loss.
The sixth inning saw Collin Gevry score on a wild pitch and Aaron Morice score on an error. The Silverbacks tallied five base hits in the contest as West Haven starter Kyle Egidio went the distance and tossed a complete game while allowing one earned run.
Waterbury will prepare for their fourth game in four days, including their third road game in that same stretch as a matchup against the Weston Barons is slated for Wednesday evening.
