After a strong summer with the Waterbury Silverbacks, third baseman Michael Fiatarone capped off his 2025 season by joining the Norwich Sea Unicorns of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League (FCBL). The Shelton, Connecticut native — who graduated from Shelton High School this past spring — made his presence felt at the plate and in the field during his first season of collegiate summer ball.

Fiatarone was an offensive standout, finishing the summer with a .389 batting average, .469 on-base percentage, and 1.080 OPS across 64 plate appearances. He tallied 21 hits, including 6 doubles and 2 home runs, while driving in 18 runs and scoring 13. He also showed patience and speed, drawing 9 walks and going a perfect 5-for-5 in stolen bases.

In the field, Fiatarone handled 44 total chances at third base, recording 22 assists and 18 putouts. His ability to contribute both offensively and defensively made him a valuable part of the Silverbacks before making the move to Norwich to finish his summer.

“Michael brought consistency at the plate and toughness in the field,” said Silverbacks owner Tim Binkoski. “He was a key piece for us in Waterbury, and it was exciting to see him take the opportunity to play with Norwich and win a Futures League Championship with them.”
