Kevin Cestari's Strong Eye Leads Waterbury Silverbacks Past Gold Star Generals

Casey Sexton earned the win for the Waterbury Silverbacks. The pitcher gave up four hits and three runs over five and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking three. Trace Morales took the loss for the Generals. The starting pitcher went three innings, allowing four runs on four hits, striking out five and walking four. Cestari tossed one and one-third innings of shutout ball for Waterbury in relief. The hurler surrendered zero hits, striking out none and walking one.
Pierce Cowles and Ben Stewart were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Waterbury while hitting back-to-back. Siano drove the middle of the lineup, leading the Silverbacks with three runs batted in. The second baseman went 1-for-3 on the day. Waterbury had patience at the plate, collecting 11 walks for the game. Cestari and Devin Kulas led the team with three free passes each. The Silverbacks ran wild on the base paths, amassing six stolen bases for the game. Waterbury was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Cestari made the most plays with eight.
Kevin Cestari showed a strong eye at the plate on Sunday, as Cestari walked three times while leading the Waterbury Silverbacks to a 7-3 victory over the GoldStar Generals.
Waterbury jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Dario Sosa hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, and Mike Siano singled, scoring two runs.vThe Silverbacks scored one run in the top of the second on a solo home run to left field by Cestari.
Luca Muscarella hit a solo home run to left field in the bottom of the fifth for the GoldStar.
