Game Shortened Due to Weather. Silverbacks Fall to Lakehounds 4-3.

The Waterbury Silverbacks fell to the Danbury LakeHounds 4-3 on Wednesday at Rogers Park. The game was cut short due to weather. The 6th inning was played, but it was a slog and the umpire officially went back to call the game after the 5th.

Danbury LakeHounds got on the board in the bottom of the second inning after Chris Takita doubled to left field, and Luke Ciccone hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.

A home run to left field by Zach Drewry gave the Silverbacks the lead, 3-2, in the top of the fourth. A few pitches earlier, James Mariano scored on a wild pitch that tied the game.

The LakeHounds took the lead in the bottom of the fourth. Ciccone singled, scoring two runs, to give Danbury LakeHounds the upper hand, 4-3.

In the loss, Waterbury Silverbacks had 2 hits in the affair. Unfortunately, Danbury LakeHounds had 3 hits on the way to victory.

In the redacted 6th inning, the Silverbacks made the score 7-4 in the top of the sixth after Michael Fiatarone doubled, scoring two runs, Cam Willis drew a walk, scoring one run, and Will Bartoli singled, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the redacted sixth inning, the LakeHounds went back into the lead after Matt Morehouse doubled, and Ciccone hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring two runs.

Mason Rodriguez earned the win for Danbury LakeHounds. The pitcher gave up one hit and zero runs over one-third of an inning, striking out one and walking two. Logan Pulitano took the loss for Waterbury Silverbacks. The pitcher went one and two-thirds innings, allowing two runs on one hit, striking out one and walking four. Braydon Sturino stepped on the mound first for Waterbury Silverbacks. The starter gave up two hits and two runs (zero earned) over three innings, striking out one and walking one. Tanner Wall started on the bump for Danbury LakeHounds. The hurler allowed two hits and three runs (one earned) over four innings, striking out four and walking one.
