Cestari’s Gem and Risedorf’s Career Game Earn the Duo Waterbury’s Player of the Week Awards

It’s not often you see two players earn their respective team’s Player of the Week Awards from the same game, however, Waterbury’s Kevin Cestari and Nolan Risedorf’s performances in the July 23 game vs. Simsbury earned them the club’s awards for the week of July 20 to July 26.
A dominant performance is an understatement in starting pitcher Kevin Cestari’s playoff start against the Sabercats. The freshman chucked a complete game shutout, allowing only two hits while striking out five. The gutsy performance on the bump deservingly earned him the Silverbacks Pitcher of the Week Award.
In the same game, outfielder Nolan Risedorf had quite the day at the plate. The junior went 3/4 with a double and homerun, all while recording five RBIs en route to a ridiculous .750/.750/.1.750 slashline for the week. His heroics in Waterbury’s playoff victory earned him the team’s Player of the Week Award.
