Bridgeport Rolls Over Waterbury in Thursday Night Clash

West Haven played as the home team for the first time since June 25 in their matchup against Bridgeport Thursday evening. The result found the Barnums shutting out the Silverbacks in a 7-0 final.
Bridgeport’s offense remained consistent all day, putting up at least a run in five of their seven chances. The Waterbury offense was not able to keep up with the Barnum’s attack, only putting up three hits on the day.
Braydon Sturino started the game pitching for Waterbury. The freshman pitched 3 ⅓ innings, giving up four hits and six runs. Greg Mable entered in relief and tossed 3 ⅔ innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out two.
The three hits registered from the Silverbacks lineup were all singles as Alex Teixeira, Brayden Whipple and Miles Perez all recorded base hits in the loss.
Waterbury gets the weekend off as their next game comes on Monday evening as they get ready to host West Haven.
