Bats Show Up In Waterbury Silverbacks Win Against Silk City Sluggers

Bats were blistered as the Waterbury Silverbacks took down the Silk City Sluggers 8-7 on Wednesday. Waterbury collected 11 hits, while Silk City had five.
Waterbury rallied for the victory despite trailing 5-0 in the third. The Sluggers opened the scoring in the second after a wild pitch scored one run. A walk by Canon Marshall, a double by Adam Pivacek, and an error helped Silk City Sluggers extend their early lead in the third.
Waterbury flipped the game on its head in the top of the fourth, scoring six runs on four hits to take the lead, 6-5. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Andrew Lasko that drove in two.
Griffin Dodder earned the win for Waterbury Silverbacks. The hurler gave up two hits and five runs (two earned) over three innings, striking out six and walking three. Noah Terzo started on the bump for Silk City Sluggers. The starter gave up 11 hits and eight runs (seven earned) over seven innings, striking out 11 and walking three. Gabe Baber and Zach Worzel each appeared in relief for Waterbury Silverbacks.
The Silverbacks accumulated 11 hits in the game. Zach Drewry and Joseph Fasano each collected two hits for Waterbury. Lasko led Waterbury Silverbacks with two runs batted in. The right fielder went 1-for-3 on the day. The Waterbury Silverbacks stole three bases in the game.
