After spending this summer with the Waterbury Silverbacks, graduate student Andrew Hartman, a Bethel, Connecticut native, has signed with the Elmira Pioneers of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL), adding another chapter to his baseball journey.

Hartman, who only played in a half dozen games, finished with a .250 batting average and a .500 on-base percentage during his time with the Silverbacks.

Hartman began his collegiate career at Gordon College and is now getting his Masters at Post University. After 129 collegiate games in his career thus far, he has compiled a .299 batting average with 129 hits, 25 doubles, 2 triples, 6 home runs, and 80 RBIs. He also holds a .408 slugging percentage, .399 on-base percentage, and has drawn 63 walks, while maintaining a .930 fielding percentage.

Now heading to the PGCBL, Hartman looks to continue making an impact with the Elmira Pioneers. “We’re proud of Andrew and excited to see him take on this new opportunity,” said Silverbacks owner Tim Binkoski. “He’s a hardworking player with a great approach to the game, and we’re looking forward to seeing what he can do for Elmira.”
